Every Podium assessment rests on conventional psychometric science: questions written and calibrated by psychologists, and scores produced by established psychometric scoring.
Technology is how we advance that core. It lets us calibrate every question, give each candidate a fresh test form, protect results from outside help, connect to the systems clients already use and deliver the same assessment across languages and regions. Our own development team builds and runs the platform, working alongside our psychologists.

Measurement Science, Built In
The platform is built around the psychometric methods behind our assessments, not bolted on afterwards.
Item Response Theory
PQ10 and Derailers were developed with multidimensional item response theory. GCAT is calibrated with a three-parameter model, so the difficulty, discrimination and guessing behaviour of every question is known before a candidate sees it.
Calibrated Item Banks
Each GCAT candidate receives a form assembled from banks of equivalent, calibrated questions. Scores stay comparable between candidates, while a question one candidate has seen is of little use to anyone else.
See the GCAT evidenceCurrent, Regional Norms
Norm groups are held in the platform by region, language and population, so each candidate is compared with a relevant group. Norms for our main assessments have been updated to 2026.
Modular Questionnaires
Clients can administer only the scales a role needs, shortening the assessment without building a new test.
Reporting Engine
Reports are generated from scored results as Word and PDF documents, alongside bulk Excel data exports, and can be designed around a client's own competency framework.
Psychologist-Led AI Tools
AI helps our psychologists draft and translate questions and map competency frameworks. A psychologist reviews everything it produces, and no AI scores candidates.
How We Use AIProtecting Every Session
Unsupervised online testing is only useful if the results are the candidate's own. Our four-layer integrity framework was tested in research presented at SIOP 2026, covering more than 106,000 GCAT sessions.
Design
Dynamic Item Pools
Forms assembled from calibrated item banks make shared or harvested answers far less useful.
Deter
Assessment Integrity Message
A short message before every test, which our research found significantly reduced flagged sessions.
Detect
Confidence Score
A behavioural index built from signals such as leaving the test window and unusual response timing. It does not use AI.
Defend
Facial Validation
Optional AI image analysis that checks a single candidate stays on camera, without full video recording.
Every flag comes with its evidence and is reviewed by a person. Integrity Research (SIOP 2026)
Fits the Way You Work
Podium connects to the tools organisations already use, so assessments sit inside existing hiring and development workflows.
Secure, Regional and Accessible
ISO 27001:2022 Certified
Our information security management system is independently certified. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and the platform is regularly penetration tested.
Regional Platforms
Separate regional platforms serve Australia and New Zealand, Europe and the UK, and the UAE.
18 Languages
Our assessments are available in up to 18 languages, including right-to-left Arabic, and this website is available in five.
Any Device, Accessible by Default
Assessments run in all modern browsers, scale to the candidate's device and cope with interrupted connections, with screen reader support included as standard.
